An inspiration to young Latino filmmakers, everywhere; Award-Winning OkCine Latino Film Festival Founder/Director; Rogelio
Almeida serves at the University of Central Oklahoma as Coordinator for Multimedia Services
First generation Mexican-American, Almeida served in the US Army and successfully and honorably conducted 2 combat tours
in Iraq. After separating from the Army, Rogelio finally pursued his dream of attending Film School under the guidance of
Academy Award-Winning Producer; Gray Frederickson. Since then, Rogelio has created multiple Award-Winning films, garnering
international praise. Amongst those awards include the Grand Jury Award at deadCENTER Film Festival. Rogelio is also the co-founder
and programming director for the 7th Annual Oklahoma Cine Latino Film Festival and Youth Film Institute which focuses on delivering
hands-on instruction to young high school-age scholars about the comprehensive art of filmmaking.
